Youth shouldn’t have to choose between growing in faith and being who God created them to be. LGBTQ youth who want a relationship with God and with their local church are often faced with that very choice. Many end up feeling that they are disqualified from the start – from being a part of their church and from being close to God – simply because they are different.
· “SOMEWHERE” is a place that LGBTQ youth, as well as their friends & allies, can go to deepen their faith through Bible study, worship and fellowship with other believers.
· As a group, we will seek ways to serve those in need throughout our neighborhoods, striving to be good representatives of not only the LGBTQ community but also the Christian community as a whole.
· “SOMEWHERE” will be a safe place – a sanctuary – where LGBTQ youth can come and recharge spiritually, learn about God’s love for them, and make friends with like-minded youth who are striving to seek after God in spite of being told by some that they are not worthy of that privilege.
· In light of recent violence against the LGBTQ community and the tragic suicides of several young people who felt they had no other escape from the hatred around them, we will work to be a resource to all in the LGBTQ community who feel they have no where to turn to be heard, to be accepted, or to be loved.
